I can connect to the internet wifi just fine, but it would lose its connection whenever I step out for a couple of minutes. Have you tried deleting wireless network and setting it up again? I have an Acer Aspire VG. There are multiple other devices running on my home network at any given time and we never have any trouble. This is why I think it may just may be a crappy Qualcomm network card: If I am in the same room as the router, the Acer laptop connects via the network card.

If I stand in the next room, approx 15 feet, in direct line of sight, the connection drops. I ask because I would simply buy another network card if that is the issue.
